A NOTE TO CLAIRE
Hello my beautiful angel, its been 8 weeks since you laid beside me and closed those beautiful big brown weary eyes and not a sound did I hear from you till I woke at dawn and realized you had gone.
I miss you so much my angel, every morning I go to your room and open the blinds to let the sunlight shine through those bright pink curtains, and on dusk your light is switched on until I go to bed and as I leave your room I still say “goodnight my beautiful girl, I love you, see you in the morning”.
For 13 years I was there for you.
From when you were 5 weeks old and you were diagnosed with a very serious and complex heart defect and I was told the devastating news that I should take you home and cherish every minute with you.
All those times you were sick, the sleepless nights, visits to specialists, the countless Tachycardia’s you endured and all the trips to PMH.
Your first open heart surgery to try and patch your leaking valve.
Your second open heart surgery, to insert a prosthetic valve.
Your third and final open heart surgery, where you suffered 3 cardiac arrests, in a coma for 2 weeks, kidney failure and endured the amputation of your right leg.
For 13 years you were there for me.
A miracle that never ceased to be miraculous.
Full of beauty and forever beautiful.
Loving and caring and truly amazing.

Now you’re gone, and I don’t know what to do.
I close my eyes and I think of you and how you were always there for me.
Love you
Mum
xoxo
